In this post I’m going to write about my Maid Cafe experience in Taipei! Even if the number of maid cafes are still little in Taiwan, but they are gaining popularity not only among otakuzoku, but also people who are interested in visiting these kinds of themed cafe. So, me being in between these two types of people, decided to try and feel the MAID POWER!

It is the first maid cafe I have visited since I came to Taiwan in 2012. Out of curiosity, my sister and I made our way to MoePoint found at Ximending. Going up the stairs hesitantly, we finally reached the entrance and were greeted by one of the maids.
The space is large, but quite empty by the time we reached as it was way past lunchtime. We ordered the following:
Overall the food was ok, and the maid will occasionally come over at our table to ask us if there is anything we need. A good place to spend the afternoon with some friends, if there is a next time, I may try to go again during the peak time, to see more interactions between the maids and the customers!

Fatimaid, the second maid cafe that I visited while taking my Mauritian friends who were on Taiwan tour last year. There were more than 8 people in the group, and the two maids who served us were super cute! They were also surprised that we were Mauritians and even asked why we wanted to visit Fatimaid and how we learnt about them. We ordered some drinks, cakes and cookies for a quick afternoon tea dessert as the group have to return to the Youth Center for dinner. We did not spend too much time over there but we did have fun. Compared to MoePoint, the space is narrower, but with a warmer environment and decor. Worth a revisit!
Each hot drink was served with different drawings on them, so cute! (> w <) Even the plates on which food were served were decorated with cute manga drawings!

Third maid cafe visited this year! It is situated at Taipei Main Station, Y zone, just some meters after and facing Chitty Mood. I visited Maiden School with my friend and sister, again. According to the latter, their waffles were well done and very good! The funny part is that, when food is served, we had to follow the maid to perform a “spell” to make food taste better…It was embarrassing at first, but we got used to it after the second plate of cake is being served. The boys at the other table were even laughing at us, but we did the same when it reached their turn, niahaha!
Before we make our way out, we complimented their waffle, and the maid in charge of the food was very delighted on hearing us saying so. We even had to play a game before the maid let us go, but luckily we won and we were spared of the “punishment”! Yay~!

Last on my list, Maiden Diner! I went there yesterday after work with my sister, and ordered some spaghetti. To my disappointment, they were microwaved food, the taste was not bad, but still… Yet it cannot be blamed because the space was really limited! On their menu, I noticed that some drinks were named after Vocaloids, and wanted to try them out, so I ordered Hatsune, and my sister chose Megurine. The taste of the drinks were not bad though! If there is a next time, I will give a try to their desserts!
Overall I enjoyed visiting the maid cafes even if I did not have full interactions with the maids, since I went as a normal customer. People should not have misconceptions about the maids, it is a proper profession like any other job on Earth, and they should be respected!
